NEDRE VATS, Norway, Dec. 8, 2023 — AutoStore™, a pioneering robotic technology company specializing in automated storage and retrieval systems, announces it has been named a recipient of the 2023 Top Software & Technology Award in Robotics for the company’s first public-facing port, the PickUpPort. Presented by Food Logistics and Supply & Demand Chain Executive, this award spotlights new-to-market software and technology solutions in the supply chain industry.

AutoStore™ Receives 2023 Top Software & Technology Award in Robotics

“From robotics and warehouse automation to procurement and ERP software, WMS, TMS and supply chain visibility solutions, the supply chain software and technology sector continues to boom. These solutions (and many more) are designed to streamline, optimize and innovate the supply chain and logistics space, and do so by incorporating emerging technologies and a path to efficiency,” says Marina Mayer, Editor-in-Chief of Food Logistics and Supply & Demand Chain Executive.

“It’s an honor for the PickUpPort to be recognized for this highly coveted award,” said Carlos Fernandez, chief product officer at AutoStore. “Our first technology aimed at serving consumers directly, the PickUpPort allows for a simple, automated buy-online-pickup-in-store option. We’re pleased to offer this solution to help our clients better serve their customers with an alternative to last-mile delivery options.”

The PickUpPort was designed with consumers in mind, featuring top-of-the-line safety and security features to ensure a seamless, intuitive experience. When a customer places an order for in-store pickup, AutoStore Robots pick the correct items for order consolidation. From there, the order is stored within the system until pickup. The port remains locked until the designated purchaser's arrival, ensuring secure and accurate delivery. When the customer arrives, a robot brings the completed order to the PickUpPort, which will alert the customer with an LED light when it is ready to be opened.
